Times Higher Education: Chaos’ Expected as New Visa Compliance Rules Now Due in June

New UK visa compliance rules for universities take effect in June, raising concerns about potential non-compliance after a turbulent period for international student enrolments.

In an article published in Times Higher Education, Senior Immigration Manager Jonathan Hill explains that the tighter thresholds for enrolment, course completion and visa refusal rates, along with the introduction of a red-amber-green rating system, increase anxiety across the sector. He notes that even universities meeting the new requirements face reputational challenges, while transitional measures provide some relief in the first year.
