Ireland: Increase in Financial Thresholds for Non-EEA Students

Foreign nationals from outside the European Economic Area, Switzerland or the United Kingdom planning to begin study in Ireland on or after July 1, 2023 will be required to provide evidence of access to at least EUR 10,000 per year during their stay, up from EUR 7,000. If the course duration is less than six months, the required financial threshold will be a lump sum of EUR 4,200 (up from EUR 3,000) or EUR 700 (up from EUR 500) per month, whichever is less. Note, existing holders of student immigration permission appear to be unaffected by the threshold increases.
