Malaysia: Returned Applications to be Automatically Cancelled if Left Unaddressed
September 12, 2024
The Expatriate Services Division (ESD) announced that in a new practice, online applications that have been returned for any reason must be resubmitted within 90 days from the date the application is returned; otherwise, they will be automatically canceled, and the processing fee will be forfeited (not refundable). The ESD will send email reminders to company contacts indicated in the company’s Letter of Undertaking every three months, two months, one month, three weeks, two weeks, and one week before the automatic cancellation date. This policy will take effect on October 1, 2024, impacting all pending and future applications. Applicants and sponsoring companies are encouraged to ensure all the required information and documents are provided upon submission and to continuously monitor their applications after filing.
