The NACUA Annual Conference is the premier event for legal professionals in higher education, offering in-depth analysis of emerging legal issues, regulatory updates, and practical guidance from leading experts.
Partners Aaron Blumberg and Monique van Stiphout will join Session 06E: Proactive Strategies to Mitigate Risk in Uncertain Times and Ensuring Compliance in Higher Education Immigration Programs on Tuesday, June 24, from 2:15 PM–3:30 PM, to explore how institutions can proactively manage risk and maintain compliance across their immigration programs amid increasing regulatory scrutiny. This session will cover key areas including H-1B and PERM risk mitigation, F-1 and J-1 visa compliance, decentralized I-9 processing, and institutional challenges related to B-1 visitors and DACA/TPS populations. Drawing on findings from a recent national benchmarking survey, the panel will offer practical guidance on developing clear sponsorship policies, defining institutional responsibilities, and avoiding common legal pitfalls.
