Significant changes are coming to the H-1B visa renewal process that could impact many workers and companies in Silicon Valley. NBC Bay Area interviewed Partner Audrea Golding on these updates.
She explained that the State Department’s latest rule limits the popular Interview Waiver program which previously allowed many visa holders to renew without in-person consulate interviews. Now most nonimmigrant visa holders, including H-1B holders, are required to return to their home countries for in-person interviews to renew their visas. This shift may create delays and added challenges for workers and their families.
