
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MOHRSD) has issued a decision related to hiring a certain amount of Saudi nationals (Saudization ratio) for professions in the consulting sector (which were previously not subject to Saudization). Key specific professions include financial advisory specialists, business consulting specialists, project management managers, project management engineers and project management specialists. The MOHRSD has also released effective target dates and rates of Saudi national employment, aiming for 35% by April 6, 2023 and 40% by March 25, 2024. Relevant employers are advised to review this new guidance and comply to meet the effective target dates. Non-compliant employers will be subject to penalties, including the suspension of new work permits and employment transfers.
