Serbia: Long-term Delays to Continue due to Backlog from Recent Law Reforms
April 15, 2024
Due to a significant backlog resulting from recent immigration law reforms, current average government processing times for Single Permit applications are approximately 1.5 to 2 months (as opposed to the standard government processing times for such permits of around 15 calendar days – which does not account for a separate four days for labor market testing). There is currently no timeline for when these delays are expected to be alleviated. Businesses and employees may need to account for these delays in their onboarding process (including updating any scheduling). Additionally, employers should consider submitting renewal applications sooner than originally planned.
