Recent changes to US visa rules could affect how students from Nigeria and Ghana manage their travel and studies, explained Partner Aaron Blumberg in an article published in The PIE.

Aaron noted that while students can remain in the US lawfully if they stay enrolled and on track with their studies, the shift to single-entry, three-month visas means they must reapply each time they travel abroad. He added that the timing of an initial application has become more sensitive, as applying too early could cause the visa to expire before entry, while applying too late could delay arrival for the start of classes. Aaron also said the policy may impact opportunities such as overseas internships, research collaborations, conferences and competitions.
