Times of India: USCIS: The Annual Quota of 85K for H-1B cap Visas for Fiscal 2026 Has Been Met

USCIS has announced that the H-1B cap for FY 2026 has been reached, with the lottery selection process now complete. Employers can begin filing applications for selected beneficiaries starting April 1, 2025.

In Times of India, Senior Counsel Mitch Wexler highlighted key timing considerations for applicants. He explained that F-1 students on OPT who require cap-gap protection must file before their work authorization expires, while those awaiting degree completion should confirm they have earned their degree or have documentation proving they have met all requirements before filing.
