Effective immediately, Ukrainian nationals can only remain in Russia for up to 90 days in a 180-day period without a work or residency permit, in line with the policy for all Commonwealth of Independent States nationals. Prior to this rule change, Ukrainian nationals working in Russia could extend their stay indefinitely after the expiration of their original 90-day stay period due to a grace period in effect since 2014.
Ukrainian nationals traveling to Russia must declare the purpose of their visit upon entry and must ensure that their migration card (issued upon entry) indicates the purpose of their visit.
Ukrainian nationals who overstay past the 90-day allowable period without obtaining a work and residency permit are subject to a fine up to 7,000 RUB and deportation.

Ukrainian nationals should ensure that they comply with the limited stay provision and any registration requirements upon arrival.
