The issue
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is once again briefly extending the validity of employment authorization documents (EADs) issued under the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designation for Haiti, this time through July 27, 2026. The TPS designation and EADs had been scheduled to expire after today.
USCIS has been extending Haiti TPS EADs in brief increments since the June 25 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that permits the Trump Administration to proceed with its plan to terminate TPS for Haiti and Syria. The EADs are being briefly extended as the courts undertake the necessary steps to effectuate the Supreme Court decision.
Which EADs are affected by the extension?
USCIS is extending Haiti TPS EADs through July 27, 2026 if the EAD has an original expiration date of February 3, 2026, August 3, 2025, August 3, 2024, June 30, 2024, February 3, 2023, December 31, 2022, October 4, 2021, January 4, 2021, January 2, 2020, July 22, 2019, January 22, 2018, or July 22, 2017.
