Ali is a Practice Leader based in the firm’s Dubai office, where he oversees UAE operations and Nomadic, Fragomen’s short-term travel service line dedicated to addressing the unique needs of today’s mobile workforce, in the Middle East. As part of Fragomen’s Middle East and North Africa (MENA) leadership team, Ali plays a pivotal role in shaping the firm's strategic direction across the region.

Ali is also a key member of Fragomen’s regional government advisory team, collaborating closely with government and semi-government entities to conduct benchmarking, comparative analyses and research initiatives that help drive immigration policy development. His insights support policymakers in enhancing regulatory frameworks and improving immigration processes across the region.

In addition to his government advisory work, Ali partners with large multinational organizations to develop and refine global business travel policies, ensuring compliance with evolving immigration regulations. He provides strategic counsel on broader immigration matters, including compliance, risk management and policy optimization. Ali is an active contributor to thought leadership, frequently sharing insights through local and regional publications, and is also a member of several business and mobility forums and discussion groups. He also oversees Fragomen’s MEA Private Client Practice, designed to provide tailored residency and RCBI solutions to individuals seeking to reside in the region and beyond.

Ali represents Fragomen at high-profile regional and global conferences, forums and industry initiatives, reinforcing the firm’s position as a leader in immigration advisory services.

Prior to his current role, Ali was part of a multinational consulting firm, where he managed its Middle East immigration practice. Ali also previously headed the mobility program for the Americas for one of the world’s largest multinational conglomerates. His previous experience at Fragomen includes working within Fragomen’s Global Knowledge group and the Middle East Coordination team, further deepening his understanding of the region’s immigration landscape.

Ali speaks English and Urdu.
