Jian (CJ) is an Associate at Fragomen’s New York office, where he represents a diverse range of clients—from individuals to multinational corporations—on U.S. immigrant and nonimmigrant matters. His practice includes National Interest Waivers (NIWs) and various nonimmigrant visa categories, such as O-1 and H-1B. He also has experience handling complex cases, including responding to Requests for Evidence (RFEs).

While in law school, CJ worked at an asylum clinic where he prepared asylum seekers for court appeals and successfully helped clients obtain asylum status. His legal experience is complemented by a deep understanding of the fashion and modeling industries. Before law school, he spent seven years in the modeling industry as a model agent in Shanghai and New York, as well as a casting director. He also worked with fashion brands during law school and while earning his master’s degree at Parsons School of Design.

CJ speaks English and Mandarin.
