Raquel advises a wide range of companies—from multinational entities to startups—on all components of immigration programs, compliance and helping them interpret the effect of immigration policy on their industry and their workforce, especially the different options for moving employees to the U.S. In addition to the more common visa categories, Raquel focuses on O-1 and EB-1A visas, both of which have stringent criteria and are often difficult to obtain for certain individuals and industries. Additionally, she serves as advisory counsel for a major technology company on their PERM program management.

Specifically, Raquel works with clients in the following industries:

  • Banking
  • Financial services—Hedge funds, cryptocurrency and investment firms
  • Video game developers
  • Technology—Emerging companies and B2B tech solutions, including fintech startups
  • Infrastructure
  • Consumer goods

As a daughter and granddaughter of immigrants and a naturalized citizen and immigrant in the U.S. herself, Raquel is able to connect with her clients’ employees and empathize with them because of her own experience. She understands that they’re embarking on a major change for themselves and their families and the stress they can experience while navigating the immigration process. Her goal is to help them every step of the way and make the journey as seamless as possible.

Clients also value that Raquel not only puts herself in their shoes but anticipates their needs from start to finish. She is known for her dedication, responsiveness, clear communication and most importantly a high case success rate—deftly overcoming obstacles and changes in circumstances. She demonstrated this ability during the COVID-19 pandemic and various changes in immigration policy.

Raquel’s compassion is also evident in her commitment to pro bono cases, having represented several special immigrant juveniles before the Immigration Court and USCIS and an asylum applicant before Immigration Court. She also volunteered at the South Texas Family Residential Center (Dilley Detention Center), and works with organizations to help Afghan refugees, TPS application for Venezuelan and Haitian migrants and migrant women who are victims of domestic abuse.

Raquel speaks English and Spanish.
