Next week, a team of 16 immigration attorneys and paralegals is traveling to Dilley, Texas to join CARA in its mission to help ensure that the growing population of detained children and their mothers receive competent, pro bono representation during their stay at the South Texas Family Residential Center. Close to 2,000 people are now being detained at the Dilley location, all of whom have expressed a fear of persecution if they were to be returned to their home countries.
Great job to our 14 attorneys and 2 paralegals from our offices in Chicago, Michigan and New York for representing our firm in this important and challenging initiative.
CARA is made up of volunteers of the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, the American Immigration Council, the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
