Fragomen Sheffield Volunteering Day

Our team in the Sheffield office took a day to work on the gardens at the Sheffield Mencap, Norfolk Lodge.  The team weeded driveways and paths, removed rubbish and debris, and tidied up the entrance to the centre, with the helping hand of a long-standing service user.

Sheffield Mencap and Gateway was established in 1951 in Sheffield by parents of children with learning disabilities who wanted a better life for their children. Mencap started in a small ‘tin hut’ and one of the parents built the centre standing today. Mencap has been running for over 60 years and provides support to over 300 adults and children with learning disabilities, together with their families and carers in Sheffield.
