Provisional Waiver Offers New Options for Mixed-Status Families

The article, titled “Provisional Waiver Offers New Options for Mixed-Status Families,” discusses the common misconception that an undocumented individual can easily “fix” his or her immigration status by marrying a U.S. citizen. It also provides an overview of the key legislation that created “mixed status” families, highlights the risks they face, and discusses a provisional waiver program that can provide some relief from the consequences of entering the United States without inspection.
