About Argentina
Whether you’re looking to visit, live or work in Argentina—we can support your immigration needs at every stage of your journey.
If you’re a foreign national looking to visit, live and/or work in Argentina, several options are available.
- Business Visits: Unless you are visa-exempt, you typically need a Business Visa to conduct business activities in Argentina. Visa nationals can stay for up to 60 days and visa-exempt nationals can stay for up to 90 days.
- Work Authorization: The main work authorization categories are 24 h), for individuals conducting short-term work and technical activities; and the Temporary Residence Visa, which is split into two categories: 23 a), granted to local hires and employees and 23 e), for seconded employees and intracompany transferees. The 24 h) permit is generally granted for 30-90 day stays, and the Temporary Residence Visa has a one-year validity.
- Internships/Traineeships: There is no trainee-specific work authorization category.
- Self-employment or self-sponsored: If you're an investor or entrepreneur (generally from non-Mercosur members), you may be eligible for an Investor Visa (Law 25,871). Investor Visas are valid for up to one year and may be extended. Argentina also offers a short-term residence permit for digital nomads, which allows foreign nationals employed outside of Argentina to work remotely from Argentina for up to six months using telecommunication tools (renewable one time for the same period), without local employer sponsorship.
Fragomen can also consult on citizenship matters and, as permitted within the confines of local law, may be able to offer citizenship assistance.
Fragomen in Argentina is Immigration Specialists S.R.L.
