The Spring Chapter Conference will take place April 8–10, 2026 at the historic Menger Hotel in San Antonio, Texas. The conference features two tracks: Advanced Family-Based Immigration/Removal Defense and Advanced Business Immigration.
Partner Paige Taylor will serve as a panel speaker for the session Advanced PERM Strategy: Recruitment, Compliance, and Timing.
This advanced panel will address key considerations in navigating the PERM labor certification process amid increased complexity, heightened scrutiny, and longer processing times. The discussion will explore how to align PERM strategies with evolving business needs while maintaining compliance.
Topics will include understanding employer needs; drafting compliant job descriptions and minimum requirements, including how to balance specificity with regulatory expectations; and analyzing “substantially different” roles, including when experience gained with the sponsoring employer may be used.
The panel will also cover managing job changes, promotions, and successor-in-interest scenarios, as well as addressing challenges such as layoffs, hiring freezes, and their impact on PERM eligibility. Additional discussion will focus on strategic recruitment practices, handling ability-to-pay issues, and managing timelines in light of ongoing PERM processing delays.
