Ireland: New Policy for Travelers During Holiday Season

Due to ongoing application processing delays, immigration authorities are allowing foreign nationals with expired residence permits (IRPs) that have pending renewal applications to travel with their expired permits on the basis of a Travel Confirmation Notice from December 9, 2022 to January 31, 2023. This applies to nationals from outside the European Economic Area who have submitted their IRP renewal application before their IRP card expiry date. Affected permit holders are advised to download and print this notice, and to present it with their expired IRP card and proof of renewal application to immigration authorities or airlines upon request.
