Israel: Consular Requirement Reinstated for B-1 Work Permit Applicants
May 3, 2023
The Israeli Ministry of Interior has ended the COVID-related concession that allowed waivers of consular appointments to nationals who are visit visa exempt for B-1 work permit (there are 78 such nationalities). Therefore, such applicants must now obtain their visa at an Israeli consular post and can no longer enter Israel without first visiting a consular post. Assignees with valid B-1 work permits who are on their way to Israel will likely be able to enter, however in any case they will need to obtain their visa at an Israeli consular post before entering again in the future.
