Qualifying Indian Nationals Soon to be Eligible for Registered Traveller Scheme and Great Club
November 7, 2016

Countries / Territories
Qualifying Indian nationals will be eligible for the UK Registered Traveller Scheme, which allows certain frequent travellers to the United Kingdom to utilize expedited entry e-passport gates at the UK border, and the Great Club, which allows select businesses to liase with a UK Visas and Immigration account manager to facilitate the streamlining of visa applications and migrants’ entry into the UK.
The Registered Traveller Scheme
Registered Traveller Scheme users can enter the United Kingdom via e-passport gates (including the UK/European Economic Area passport lines) and avoid completing a landing card, the review of which can delay the entry process.
India will be the first country to join the Scheme where all of the country’s nationals are classified as visa nationals, which means that they must obtain a UK visa prior to travel. Other member countries’ nationals, in almost all cases, do not have to obtain a UK visa prior to travel.
The Great Club
The Great Club, a pilot program introduced in 2014, allows select businesses to benefit from a dedicated UK Visas and Immigration account manager who can facilitate visa applications and migrants’ entry into the United Kingdom.
What This Means for Foreign Nationals
Indian nationals seeking to travel to the United Kingdom should see streamlined entry when they use the Registered Traveller Scheme or the Great Club.
Fragomen will provide further updates on the programs as they become available.
