Nigeria
Effective immediately, the processing time for Business and Tourist Visa applications filed at the Nigerian diplomatic posts must be processed within 48 hours. Previously, these visa applications were processed in three to seven business days.
Once the complete application is submitted, the immigration authorities must communicate the approval or denial of the application within the 48 hours. Failure to meet this timeline will render the application automatically approved.
In addition, the new processing times, comprehensive and up-to-date list of requirements, conditions and procedures for obtaining visas on arrival must be published on all immigration websites in Nigeria and abroad, as well as all ports of entry to Nigeria.
What This Means for Employers and Foreign Nationals
Foreign nationals traveling to Nigeria can expect a decision on their visa applications within 48 hours of submission.
