Switzerland: Non-EU/EEA Work Permit Work Permit Quotas for 2024 Unchanged
November 29, 2023
Switzerland’s non-EU/European Economic Area (EEA) work permit quota will remain unchanged in 2024, with 4,000 Short-term L permits (up to 24 months) and 4,500 Long-term B permits (more than 24 months) to be offered. This is the same figure as for 2022 and 2023. These quota spots will all be released on January 1, 2024. Despite the recent trend of quota spots not being fully exhausted, employers are nonetheless advised to submit work permit applications early to avoid rejections due to the quotas being filled. Once all quota spots are filled, no further permits can be granted until the next batch of quota numbers is released.
