Tanzania: Immigration Status Checks Required for Foreign National Employees and Permanent Residents

The Tanzanian Ministry of Home Affairs has announced that all foreign national employees and permanent residents must verify their immigration status between September 11 and October 8, 2025, at any regional immigration office, the Kurasini office in Dar es Salaam, or the Zanzibar Immigration Headquarters. As part of the process, individuals are required to present valid passports along with supporting documents, such as work or residence permits. Through this initiative, the Ministry seeks to strengthen oversight of foreign nationals living and working in Tanzania and ensure compliance with immigration regulations. Failure to comply with this verification requirement within the specified period may result in fines, imprisonment, and eventual deportation.
