The Netherlands: Stricter Document Retention Rule Forthcoming for Highly Skilled Migrants
February 29, 2024
Beginning April 1, 2024, recognized sponsors will need to retain more employee documentation for highly skilled migrants who are eligible for a reduced salary beyond the current requirement of pay slips and a copy of their diploma. New documentation will include credential evaluation forms and proof of language exam scores, among other documents. Employers must retain these records at the worksite for a period of five years after the employer is no longer the recognized sponsor of the highly skilled migrant.
