The UK launched its electronic travel authorization (ETA) system this week, impacting travelers from more than 40 visa-exempt countries, including the US and Canada.
Practice Leader Kelly Chua shared insights with The New York Times, explaining the application process, which is largely automated but includes caseworker reviews for potential rejections. Travelers with denied ETAs can reapply, or, if needed, apply for a visa. The ETA allows short-term stays of up to six months and is part of the UK’s efforts to streamline immigration processes and enhance border security.
