Fragomen Senior Associate Davy Day will serve as moderator for an upcoming California CLE program examining the evolving meaning of “consent of the governed” in U.S. territories.
Hosted at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, this timely discussion brings together leading voices to explore the legal and constitutional frameworks shaping the rights of the more than 3.6 million people living in U.S. territories. The program will reflect on the historical legacy of the Insular Cases and consider their modern-day implications, particularly as the United States approaches the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
As moderator, Davy will help guide a thoughtful and substantive conversation on this complex topic, drawing out perspectives on governance, representation, and the future of territorial rights under U.S. law.
