Drawn to complex and difficult immigration cases, Cosmina uses her nimble approach to help clients minimize risk, increase compliance and find the right solution for their specific circumstance. Cosmina works with clients across all industries focusing on Canadian temporary and permanent residence immigration matters, as well as consular and document procurement filings. She also leads the firm’s private client and French practices in Canada.

Working with businesses of all sizes, Cosmina helps them develop and implement immigration policies and programs, as well as cost-effective, compliant relocation and workforce planning strategies.

Cosmina supports clients with various Canadian work permit and entry visa requirements, including Labour Market impact assessments, electronic travel authorizations, inadmissibility applications and permanent residence filings. She also assists clients in understanding their obligations with immigration programs and provides support in relation to employer compliance reviews, audits and inspections.

In her capacity as a member of the Canadian practice’s government relations team, Cosmina leans on her strong government relationships to help clients and regularly interacts with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC) domestic case processing centers, the Canada Border Services Agencies at various ports of entry, as well as Canadian consulates and Canadian embassies worldwide on clients’ behalf.

Clients often remark Cosmina’s positive attitude and her creative, out-of-the-box thinking, which stems from her mantra that she treats her clients how she would want to be treated. Her focus on developing personal rapport has resulted in many long-term clients.

Cosmina’s path to immigration law began more than 18 years ago following her own emigration to Canada. First becoming a paralegal and eventually a lawyer, she is passionate about her work and understands the crucial role immigration law plays as governments around the world react to geopolitical and economic changes and its wide-ranging impact on the globally economy.

Cosmina proudly also devotes her time to pro bono causes related to children, women and refugees. She currently serves as Board Member of Talent Beyond Boundaries Canada, a non-profit organization that seeks to connect employers with skilled displaced individuals, and volunteers her time on various causes, from advising newcomers on settling in Canada and preparing for employment, to providing pro bono immigration services to children who come to Canada for treatment at The Hospital for Sick Children.

Cosmina often authors articles and is a regular speaker on immigration policy and topics.

Cosmina speaks English, French and Romanian.
