Margaret helps clients move their talent across borders, ensuring compliance during every step of the immigration process. She leverages her knowledge of immigration law and policy to help IT services, consulting and executive search companies stay competitive in the marketplace. Advising on nonimmigrant visa petitions, permanent residency applications, corporate immigration policy, and business compliance issues, Margaret also develops and helps manage efficient immigration programs.

Understanding the important role global immigration plays in her clients’ overall success, Margaret immerses herself in their business to understand their needs and provides guidance on appropriate visa categories based on their goals and industry to attract and retain the right foreign talent. Clients value her problem-solving skills and dedication to making the entire process easy for them and their employees. This ability was especially evident during the COVID-19 pandemic when a number of clients relied on Margaret’s deep understanding of the law to help onboard or assist large numbers of employees who found themselves outside the U.S. due to travel restrictions.

Margaret has always focused on helping people, starting her career working with asylum seekers and refugees before turning to corporate and business immigration. Many of her current clients are involved in work that has a positive impact on society and the economy and working alongside them to not only fill key roles, but also change the lives of the workers involved, is extremely fulfilling. Additionally, because of the firm’s focus on pro bono and humanitarian work, Margaret has been able to work with a variety of organizations helping individuals with U visas, juvenile visas, Afghanistan humanitarian parole cases and more. She currently serves on the board of directors of Free to Run, which aims to drive change in community gender norms in conflict areas by supporting adolescent girls and young women to advance their leadership and wellness through running.

Margaret is a frequent speaker on a variety of immigration topics, including global mobility best practices, various visa categories and I-9 employment verification.
