Soraya is a Senior Client Engagement Manager for the Benelux region, dividing her time between the Brussels and Amsterdam offices, where she drives strategic business development and client engagement initiatives. She also plays a key role in client accounts and the expansion of Fragomen’s service offerings. Additionally, she is heavily involved in government strategy and thought leadership projects, utilizing legal insights to unlock new opportunities for clients.

Soraya has extensive knowledge of immigration, global mobility and cross-border program and project management across the EMEA region. She manages and coordinates immigration processes, internal teams and external vendors in various jurisdictions, including the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Russia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Portugal, Turkey, Spain, Greece and the U.S. Her experience extends from handling large-scale projects involving the movement of hundreds of individuals to relocating C-level executives.

Soraya also has extensive experience advising on international trade regulation projects, EU Intra Company Transfer permits, Highly Skilled Migrant permits, recognized sponsorship applications and assessments.

Prior to joining Fragomen, Soraya worked at the Belgian Embassy in Buenos Aires, assigned with the political-economical and consular section.

Soraya speaks Dutch, English, French and Spanish.

Experience

Served as the manager and single point of contact for a multinational technology company, overseeing C-suite executive moves and new office openings across the EMEA region. Guided the client through complexities of navigating new legal frameworks, focusing on immigration readiness, day one compliance for newly established entities, process mapping, vendor synchronization and employee experience enhancement.

Successfully guided more than 150 employees of a multinational client and their family members to safe locations throughout Europe during a mass emergency evacuation in response to geopolitical developments, navigating complex immigration challenges and ensuring that employees’ statuses were converted into legal stays, despite absence of formal immigration facilitations at the time.

Drafted immigration and global mobility policies for a multinational client with more than 100,000 employees worldwide, including guidance on business travel, long and short-term assignments, local hires, remote work, permanent residence, compliance requirements and internal and external stakeholder management.

Advised on various large-scale reductions in force, including coordinating over 200 individual employee consultations. Coordinated and filed departure notifications while advising employer on compliance with relevant lay-off regulations.

Experience managing and coordinating immigration processes, internal teams and external vendors in various jurisdictions, including the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Russia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Portugal, Turkey, Spain, Greece and the U.S.

Extensive experience advising on international trade regulation projects, EU Intra Company Transfer permits, Highly Skilled Migrant permits, recognized sponsorship applications and assessments.
