The situation
Russia has relaxed some of the address registration rules which take effect while the country hosts the 2018 FIFA World Cup from May 25, 2018 through July 25, 2018.
A closer look
- Address registration deadlines. Foreign nationals are now required to register their address within three calendar days of arrival, instead of 24 hours, as previously announced.
- Exception. Foreign nationals who stay in hotels, hospitals and other institutions must be registered by the institution within 24 hours of arrival.

- Registration locations. Registration can be filed at local divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as well as at Multifunctional Centers. Foreign nationals cannot file registrations at post offices.
Impact
Foreign nationals entering Russia during the FIFA World Cup have more time to register their addresses.
