In an article published in Construction Management, Associate Ilaria Iovieno outlines key immigration reforms that will impact construction employers following the UK government’s July 2025 Statement of Changes.
The reforms include higher salary thresholds for skilled worker visas, a rise in the skill level requirement to RQF Level 6, and the introduction of a new Temporary Shortage List. While some lower skilled construction roles will remain eligible under this list, new applicants will face restrictions, including limits on bringing family members. With both the Immigration Salary List and the Temporary Shortage List set to end in December 2026, employers are encouraged to plan strategically and engage with upcoming policy reviews.
