Fragomen Australia Virtual Roundtable: Migration Program Reforms and Impacts on the University Sector

Fragomen Partner, Chris Spentzaris and Special Counsel & Regional Practice Leader, Charles Johanes, are hosting an interactive virtual roundtable session to discuss current immigration issues and challenges, and how the government’s reform agenda will impact on immigration and mobility programs in the University sector.
Topics for discussion will include:
- Planning for expected announcements relating to the Migration Program in 2023-24
- Balancing temporary vs permanent residence options, including speed, cost, employee retention and other related factors
- Use of alternatives to the TSS / ENS visa programs such as 500, 407 and 408 (COVID and Research streams) visas, and General Skilled Migration and Global Talent visas
- Managing fractional, honorary and adjunct appointments and affiliates
- Immigration compliance and risk considerations including student visa holders, short term visitors, and right to work and sponsorship obligations
