SHANGHAI, June 21, 2023 – Fragomen, the world’s leading provider of immigration services, is proud to be a contributing author to the 25th edition of the American Business in China White Paper, released by The American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham China). The White Paper explores the issues faced by AmCham China’s member companies in 2022 and early 2023. Each chapter offers practical recommendations to address challenges and comprehensive, actionable steps to benefit the American business community, foreign-invested enterprises, and the Chinese economy.
Providing the latest developments in the immigration landscape in China, Fragomen professionals worked closely with AmCham China’s White Paper Editor and team to develop the Visa Chapter for over five editions. The firm’s contributions to the White Paper were led by Managing Partner in China Becky Xia and Director Jenny Wang. Xia also serves as the Chair of AmCham China’s Visa Committee, a subcommittee of the Human Resources Committee, which includes more than 150 active members from a range of multinational companies.
“We are honored to contribute to this year’s White Paper and leverage Fragomen’s extensive global mobility and immigration knowledge and proprietary insights,” said Xia. “As China reopens its borders following the pandemic, we are looking forward to working with AmCham China and member companies to ensure compliance with changing policies and helping them develop strategies for attracting foreign talent into the country.”
“Each year, our White Paper is drafted by hundreds of involved member company representatives, whose selfless volunteerism and valuable insights make this important publication possible,” said Allison Lapehn, White Paper Editor, AmCham China. “We are delighted that Fragomen was able to contribute to the Visa Chapter and thank them for service to the wider membership.”
Some of the key themes in the White Paper include:
- How the COVID-Zero policy continues to impact many industries, despite the removal or reduction of travel restrictions;
- AmCham China’s policy priorities, such as expanding market access for foreign-invested enterprises; and
- A Flash Survey, released alongside the White Paper, presenting the latest business sentiment for American companies in China.
