Philippines: Digital Nomad Visa Program Forthcoming
April 29, 2025
The Philippine President recently signed an Executive Order, establishing a legal framework to issue Digital Nomad Visas to attract foreign remote workers to the Philippines. The program will allow eligible foreign nationals to live and work remotely from the Philippines for up to one year, with possible renewal. Successful applicants may be granted multiple-entry privileges during the validity of their visas, offering greater flexibility for travel in and out of the Philippines.
To qualify, applicants will need to meet several requirements, including proof of remote work using digital technologies, sufficient income sourced from outside the Philippines, valid health insurance coverage, and a clean criminal record. Additionally, applicants must be nationals of a country that offers similar digital nomad visa privileges to Filipinos and where the Philippines maintains a Foreign Service Post. Pilot implementation of the program is expected to begin within 60 days from the Executive Order’s effective date, which is April 24, 2025. We will issue an alert when more specifics are available about the program and application process.
