The Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation (DJEI) has announced that the Economic Migration Policy Unit is seeking input from stakeholder employers for a review of job categories on the Highly Skilled Eligible Occupations List and Ineligible Categories of Employment List as they relate to Employment Permits. The DJEI aims to conduct such a review twice a year. This submission period is open through April 27, 2017.
Information Requested
The authorities are requesting input on the following details:
- Suggestions of occupation job titles to be added or removed from either list;
- Details of training or industry initiatives; and
- Relevant information on wage ranges, experience levels, etc.
Submission Process
Submissions should be made by April 27, 2017 on the DJEI’s special questionnaire form available here. A separate questionnaire form should be used for every job title the employer suggests to be removed or added to either list.
Completed questionnaires should be emailed to [email protected] and [email protected].
What This Means for Employers and Foreign Nationals
The Highly Skilled Eligible Occupations List and Ineligible Categories of Employment List are subject to amendment following the review process. Employers and foreign nationals should contact their immigration professional for further details about the submission process.
