Ana María provides counsel to domestic and multinational corporations on a wide range of immigration matters, including investment and employment immigration, federal compliance, global/outbound immigration and federal litigation. Her clients span diverse industries such as chemicals, manufacturing, healthcare, education, financial services, technology and steel.

Drawing from her own personal experience as an immigrant, she is deeply committed to supporting both immigrants and their employers. Her extensive experience includes advising on non-immigrant business visas such as TN, O-1, E-2, H-1B and L-1, as well as addressing issues related to H-1B-dependent employers and I-9 compliance. Ana María’s immigrant visa work focuses on EB-1 and EB-2 preference petitions for individuals in fields like science, athletics, music and engineering, along with Labor Certification (PERM) and two-year home residency waivers.

Employers benefit from Ana María’s guidance in developing company-wide immigration policies, conducting due diligence during corporate restructuring and responding to federal agency investigations. With unique litigation experience, she also represents clients in immigration-related federal court cases.

Her practice extends to appearances before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Consulates, the U.S. Administrative Appeals Office and related agencies and federal courts.

Earlier in her career, she gained valuable experience as a Legislative Programs Officer at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C., a Legal Fellow at the Center for Justice and International Law and a Fellow at UNESCO in Paris.

Ana María speaks English and Spanish.
