Renata is an Associate at Fragomen’s Silicon Valley office, where she works on corporate immigration matters for a wide range of clients, from large companies in the technology industry to smaller businesses. She has experience advising on nonimmigrant visas, such as O-1, H-1B, L-1 and TN visas, as well as preparing and filing immigrant visas. Renata also has experience advising on PERM, preparing both Extraordinary Ability and Outstanding Researcher petitions for the EB-1 category and Adjustment of Status applications. She has also drafted responses to challenging Requests for Evidence and Motions to Reconsider that have resulted in petition approvals, and drafted motions in response to the Department of Labor that have resulted in PERM certifications.
During law school, Renata worked with Duke University School of Law’s Wrongful Convictions Clinic, where she reviewed evidence, interviewed clients and drafted motions. Additionally, she worked with Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) in Washington, DC, where she analyzed whether certain government programs were constitutional, and with The Door in New York, where she worked on various immigration matters including Special Immigrant Juvenile cases and asylum claims. Renata continues to work on asylum cases on a pro bono basis.
