Robert is a trusted advisor to Fragomen’s wide-ranging client base, from numerous VIP clients and high-net-worth individuals across a variety of industries to many individual, family-based cases. The leader of Fragomen’s Appearance Team, Robert is responsible for handling all appearance issues at USCIS offices, both in the local New York metro area as well as at various locations around the country. This work has included appearances at more than 50 different USCIS offices and attendance at 1,000s of Permanent Residence and Citizenship interviews, often on complicated matters, dating back to the 1990s. In addition, his work at local USCIS offices often involves obtaining emergency travel authorization, inquiring on and closing out long-pending cases and meeting with key, senior level immigration and customs officials.

Because of his work in this arena and his long-term relationships with government officials, Robert has continued to serve on various USCIS and CBP Liaison Committees for more than a decade and is often called on to provide internal training on his specialized knowledge of local USCIS office practice, the immigration interview process and complicated citizenship issues. He regularly works with Fragomen’s Legal Strategy team on related, complex legal issues and their practical implications. Robert has also spoken on immigration-related topics at numerous immigration law conferences organized by CFGI and AILA in the United States and abroad.

Robert’s clients rely on him to carry their deeply personal immigration journeys over the finish line. They know him as a problem solver who will help them adapt to the complex challenges that arise in the final stages of their immigration processes, ensuring any undue errors are rectified and shepherding them toward a positive outcome. He understands that these milestones will likely be life-changing for his clients, treating each case with the utmost compassion and attention.

Additionally, during law school, Robert lived in Guatemala where he worked as a human rights advocate for the local indigenous population. He also served as a law clerk with Catholic Charities in New York City, where he was involved with all aspects of preparing applications for political asylum. He currently consults on and is involved with a variety of Fragomen’s pro bono projects.

Robert speaks English and is proficient in Spanish.
