Minimum Salary Levels to Increase

Executive Summary
Effective January 1, 2018, the minimum salary level for foreign workers will increase by approximately 10 percent.
The situation
Effective January 1, 2018, the monthly minimum salary level for foreign workers will increase from CZK 11,000 to CZK 12,200.
Impact
- Initial applications. Employers seeking to sponsor foreign workers on or after January 1, 2018 must ensure the employee’s salary level meets the new minimum monthly salary requirement.
- Pending applications. Employers of foreign workers with pending applications on January 1, 2018 must raise the employee’s salary level if the employment or assignment start date falls on or after January 1, 2018.
Additional requirements
- Benefits and allowances. Benefits and allowances may be included in the salary.
- Currency. Employers are required to guarantee the salary in CZK regardless of payroll location and/or exchange rate fluctuations.
