MINNEAPOLIS – June 16, 2026 – Fragomen, the world's leading provider of immigration services, announces that Christopher Wendt has joined the firm as Counsel in Minnesota.
Wendt brings nearly three decades of immigration law experience, including more than 20 years as immigration counsel for Mayo Clinic, where he advised on complex workforce immigration matters and supported one of the nation's largest healthcare and research institutions. His experience spans employment-based immigration, physician and healthcare workforce mobility, academic and research institutions, immigration program management and strategic workforce planning.
“Healthcare providers, research institutions and employers across industries are navigating increasingly complex workforce demands,” said Enrique Gonzalez, Fragomen Co-Chair. “Chris has nearly three decades of experience helping organizations attract and retain critical talent while managing evolving regulatory requirements. His in-house perspective and experience supporting large-scale workforce needs will provide tremendous value to our clients.”
“Working within a major healthcare institution, I saw that the most effective immigration strategies are those that align legal requirements with workforce and operational goals,” said Wendt.
“Employers need approaches that not only address compliance requirements but also support workforce planning, operational priorities and long-term growth. I'm excited to bring that perspective to Fragomen and help organizations navigate an increasingly complex immigration landscape while supporting their talent needs.”
During his tenure at Mayo Clinic, Wendt oversaw immigration programs supporting thousands of international physicians, researchers and other professionals. He also led initiatives to improve legal and immigration processes, helping align immigration programs with broader organizational and workforce priorities, and chaired the institution's employment practice group from 2015 to 2023.
Throughout his career, Wendt has remained deeply committed to public service and access to justice. He has coordinated pro bono initiatives, represented asylum seekers and other individuals in immigration matters and served in leadership positions with legal aid and professional organizations. In 2025, he was selected as the inaugural chair of the Minnesota Board of Civil Legal Aid, an independent judicial branch agency responsible for supporting access to civil legal services throughout the state.
