Farah is an Associate at Fragomen’s Toronto office, where she assists a broad range of corporate clients with their Canadian immigration requirements, focusing on temporary residence matters (e.g., work permits, business visitors, etc.). She works closely with clients to strategize their business and immigration needs in Canada. Farah has experience with a variety of immigration applications, including Express Entry, provincial nominee programs, judicial reviews, stay motions, detention reviews, humanitarian and compassionate applications, sponsorship applications, pre-removal risk assessments, refugee hearings and inadmissibility matters.
Prior to joining Fragomen, Farah worked at an internationally recognized corporate immigration firm, where she worked with clients to determine the most practical and effective method to obtain Canadian permanent residence. She began her legal career with a boutique immigration firm focusing on litigation, where she represented clients before all divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board and the Federal Court.
Farah has provided pro bono services through the Centre for Policy Alternatives in Sri Lanka, the Canadian Civil Liberties Association and Community Legal Aid – Windsor. She was awarded the Windsor Law Social Justice Fellowship Program in 2014 and the Windsor Law Transnational Law and Racial Justice Network (TLRJN) fellowship in 2016.
