Sameen is an Associate at Fragomen’s Washington, DC office, where she assists clients with employment- and family-based immigration matters. She has experience with a range of immigrant and nonimmigrant petitions, including I-140, I-130, I-485, I-129, I-131, I-765 and PERM labor certifications. Sameen also has experience preparing responses to inquiries and requests from the DOL and USCIS.

Prior to joining Fragomen, Sameen was an attorney at boutique and large firms in Washington, DC and Los Angeles, CA, where her practice covered a range of matters, including immigrant and nonimmigrant visa applications, family-sponsored petitions, waivers of inadmissibility, asylum applications, humanitarian relief and all forms of relief from removal. She also represented clients in appellate work before the Board of Immigration Appeals and Administrative Appeals Office.

Sameen’s most recent pro bono efforts include assisting an Afghan client seeking asylum. She has also volunteered with LGBTQ+ organizations where she conducted asylum and T-visa screenings, volunteered in DACA workshops to review DACA applications and conducted intakes in Immigration Detention facilities. In law school, Sameen was the recipient of the Manuel and Ana Maria Benitez Award for Clinical Excellence in Immigration Law, and the Presidential Volunteer Service Award—Gold, which is awarded to an individual having performed more than 250 hours of volunteer service.

Sameen speaks English, Persian and Spanish.
