While the semiconductor industry has been a truly global one, the Asia Pacific region has stood out as the epicenter of global semiconductor manufacturing. While Taiwan and South Korea have dominated the market for sophisticated semiconductors, other countries such as China, India, and Japan are also expected to make inroads and shift the global semiconductor landscape. Particularly in the aftermath of the global pandemic, global supply chains impacting the industry have also shifted, fundamentally altering the inflow and outflow of skilled and semi-skilled labor within and outside of the region. In many cases, the various immigration systems within the region have struggled to keep up with (and take advantage of) these trends.
Join Fragomen China Managing Partner, Becky Xia, Singapore Partner, Kenneth Lau, Hong Kong Managing Director, Magdalene Tennant, and India Director, Sebin Jinny, who will share their insights in an informative panel session that seeks to explore the current immigration developments in various countries in the region, including how these trends are impacting the semiconductor industry, what we are seeing in each market as it pertains to efforts to attract foreign talent (and at what levels), and what companies in the semiconductor industry can do to plan for the future.
