Fragomen is cited in the UK House of Lords’ landmark report, “The Space Economy: Act Now or Lose Out,” published on 4 November by the UK Engagement with Space Committee.
The report examines how the UK can strengthen its position in the rapidly evolving global space economy—and the essential role of policy, regulation and talent in driving growth.
Fragomen’s insights were referenced in the section addressing skills and workforce mobility, where the Committee identified immigration policy as a key enabler of growth. The report notes Fragomen’s evidence calling for the creation of “a bespoke mobility pathway for the UK Space sector,” including the reintroduction of certain STEM and engineering roles to the national immigration salary list and greater flexibility for short-term project mobility.
The Committee recognised that these recommendations would help UK employers attract and retain the international expertise required to sustain leadership in space innovation and to build homegrown capability over time.
Echoing the report’s finding that “success in the emerging space economy requires the UK to be flexible in attracting high-skilled sectoral experts,” Fragomen continues to advise on immigration policies that help the space industry access the talent needed to lead on a global stage.
