Amid a significant administrative backlog, residence permits with validity ending between February 22, 2020 and June 30, 2025 have been automatically extended until October 15, 2025. From October 15, 2025, permit holders who have submitted a renewal application with the Institute of Registries and Notary will be granted a further extension of 180 days from the date of submitting a renewal application, provided that the permit holder can show proof of having submitted a renewal application. From this date, permit holders who have not submitted a renewal application will not be granted any additional extension.
