Based in Mexico City and co-founder of Fragomen’s office in the country, Rodrigo offers 25 years of experience in corporate immigration. He designs and implements strategic immigration programs for a wide range of industries, including automotive manufacturing, oil and gas, financial services, pharmaceuticals, education and more.

Rodrigo’s work often involves navigating the complex landscape of Mexican government regulations, coordinating with authorities to facilitate special projects and ensure compliance. His strong relationships with government agencies and his active role in the Mexican Bar Association’s immigration initiatives enable him to advocate effectively for his clients on institutional and legislative matters.

A hands-on leader, Rodrigo oversees a talented and dynamic team in Mexico. He leads by example, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment where team members feel empowered to tackle even the most challenging cases. Known for his open-door policy, Rodrigo is always available to guide and assist his team, encouraging positivity and resilience in their day-to-day work.

Rodrigo has made significant contributions to advancing the field of immigration law in Mexico. He established and coordinated the first immigration committee within the Mexican Bar Association, which was previously under the international law committee. This initiative created a platform for meaningful dialogue with authorities, enhanced the visibility of immigration issues and strengthened the profession. Rodrigo remains an active participant in the committee and continues to leverage this platform to advance impactful projects.

In addition to his professional work, Rodrigo is deeply committed to pro bono initiatives, collaborating with refugee organizations in Mexico to provide immigration support to vulnerable individuals. Through the Mexican Bar Association, he actively advocates for equitable immigration policies and practices.

Rodrigo is also a seasoned lecturer and speaker, sharing his expertise at universities and professional associations, including the National Accountants Association of Mexico. He has presented on corporate immigration topics at conferences in Mexico and internationally, including in the United States, Brazil, Canada, Argentina, Japan, India and the United Kingdom.

Rodrigo speaks English and Spanish.
