Anna is widely recognized for her work at the intersection of immigration law and policy, with a focus on complex cross-border matters, digital identity initiatives and workplace law. She brings a practical, solutions-oriented perspective to client engagements, informed by deep experience in academia, government advisory and policy development.

Serving as Senior Counsel in Fragomen’s Sydney office, Anna also holds an academic appointment as Associate Professor of Political Science in the Government and International Relations discipline at the University of Sydney, where she served as Chair of one of the faculty’s largest discipline areas. She has received multiple awards for teaching innovation and leadership. She is also an Academic Fellow with Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG), contributing to public sector capability development in partnership with the Australian Public Service Commission.

Widely respected for her policy acumen, Anna advises the Australian Immigration Minister and multiple government departments, including Home Affairs, Employment, Industry, the Attorney-General’s Department and the Treasury. She is also a member of the Department of Home Affairs’ Ministerial Advisory Council on Skilled Immigration (Expert Subcommittee) and serves as Vice President of the Australian Institute of Employment Rights.

Anna has contributed to major policy reviews, provided evidence in government hearings and participated in international consultations, including government-to-government dialogues in Latin America on gender-related policy issues and immigration data. Internationally, she provides research-based advice to the UK Office of the Director of Labour Market Enforcement and collaborates with a range of government and non-government organizations.

Her research and policy work have informed global discussions on immigration systems and workforce mobility. Notably, she contributed to a Migration Policy Institute report on Australia’s economic immigration program that informed senior government discussions across Europe and North America. She has also contributed to initiatives led by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the United Nations.

Anna is recognized for her leadership and commitment to mentoring, particularly supporting women in early and mid-career stages, as well as professionals with lived experience of disability. She is also active in pro bono work, advising in employment, anti-discrimination and victims of crime matters.

Anna speaks English and German and has basic proficiency in Norwegian.
