About Burkina Faso

Whether your company is sending employees to Burkina Faso or expanding your worldwide footprint—Fragomen is here to help. Our experienced immigration professionals partner with businesses of all sizes to develop immigration strategies that can help you achieve your goals.

  • The immigration laws of Burkina Faso provide several options for employers of foreign nationals. Requirements, processing times, employment eligibility and benefits for accompanying family members vary by visa classification.
  • Burkina Faso does not have a proper “Business Visa.” Generally, foreign nationals may enter Burkina Faso and engage in almost any activity without work authorization for up to 90 days, provided they do not execute a local employment contract. Short-Stay Visas can be obtained for any stays under 90 days. Foreign nationals can obtain a visa on arrival at the airport or a border crossing, which is valid for up to 3 months.
  • Foreign nationals seeking to work in Burkina Faso for more than 90 days must obtain a Worker Card and a Long-Stay Visa. Labour Administration Visas can be valid for the length of a foreign national’s employment contract, up to three years.

Fragomen can also consult on citizenship matters and, as permitted within the confines of local law, may be able to offer citizenship assistance.

Get in touch with Fragomen and one of our team members will be in touch with you shortly.
